ActiveFiler is a tool for IT administrators that compiles file paths. It also includes higher level features such as highly configurable automatic document management directly from Microsoft Word and Excel or organisation of files as they appear in a designated folder (e.g. useful for automatic document management of scanner image files).
Data can be read from various sources (such as the user entering text in a box or picking from a list, text files, data files, Word document properties, the date / time, inside PDFs, unique IDs etc) for use as part of a folder or the file name within a file path. Values can be manipulated, tested and messages can be popped up for the user and the file path can be built using conditional logic. There is no scripting to write, all is done viw a visual interface.
